English Reading & Writing (G3-4)

Description

The 3rd-4th grade reading and writing curriculum is designed to teach students the tools and mechanics of English writing. Students will be able to develop various writing and reading skills developed with the advanced student in mind such as deciphering informational books, writing about history, informative writing, adding examples and details to essays, as well as writing an informative essay.

This course will dive deeper into short stories, reading comprehension, and the literary elements of each story. We will also be focusing on building a 3rd-4th grade vocabulary as well as reviewing basic grammar skills.

Lesson 6) Grammar: Verbs and Vocabulary

Lesson 7) Story: Noah Count and the Ark: Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary  

Lesson 8) Grammar: Adverbs and Vocabulary

Lesson 9) Story: Four Eyes: Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary

Lesson 10) Story: Kate’s Letter: Reading Comprehension and Final Assessment Fun /Interactive quiz.  

About the Teacher：

Hello! My name is Gabriela D. Ayala and I have been an educator since 2006. I have taught all levels of English and Literature including Middle and High School levels as well as regular, honors, Pre IB and AP Literature. My passion for Literature is my best teaching quality followed by my ability to make connections with students. My passion for education also grew into getting a Master’s in Education and completing all of my Doctoral work in the field of Higher Education, which assists me to understand what Colleges expect from their students.

When I am not sharing my passion for books with students, I am sharing my time with my family, especially my three boys in Roswell, Ga. I am looking forward to sharing my life’s passion with you and making you successful in fulfilling your goals.
